Welcome to the Dutchess Ulster Swim Organization
DUSO originated as a league to facilitate recreational swimming competition among local teams in the Dutchess and Ulster counties of New York, fostering a community around summer swimming. One summer day in 1974 group of parents at the newly formed Zena Recreation Park reached out to Hurley Recreation Park to organize the Dutchess Ulster Swim Organization. This organization has grown to include 8 teams from both sides of the Hudson River. Each summer the teams participate in dual meets with each other culminating in a DUSO Championship meet where hundreds of swimmers aged 6-18 compete in an exciting final meet of the season. Many swimmers have gone on to compete at college and national levels while beginning their swimming careers at our neighborhood pools.
